{"id":6959,"date":"2018-12-29T18:29:10","date_gmt":"2018-12-29T18:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marketingteacher.com\/?p=6959"},"modified":"2019-02-17T20:37:43","modified_gmt":"2019-02-17T20:37:43","slug":"advertising-for-entrepreneurs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marketingteacher.com\/staging\/5483\/advertising-for-entrepreneurs\/","title":{"rendered":"Advertising for entrepreneurs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your\nadvertising will direct a message to large numbers of potential customers with\none single communication!&nbsp; A couple of\nsimple things to remember here: firstly, advertising needs to be aimed at\nspecific potential customers from whom you need to make a profit; which leads\nnicely on to secondly, advertising needs to be cost effective.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is\nvery easy to get drawn into expensive advertising campaigns which are over\ncomplex, and which target individuals who are not likely to buy from you.&nbsp; Before we consider specific types of\nadvertising Let us look at a quick way of pencilling a plan for your\nadvertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/marketingteacher.com\/staging\/5483wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6960\" width=\"589\" height=\"393\"\/><figcaption> <br><em>Where is the best place to advertise your start-up?<\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask\nyourself, why do I need to advertise?&nbsp;\nThere are a number of key reasons why you might want to, and you will\nnot always see an immediate increase in sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You and your company may be trying to <strong>create awareness<\/strong> of your product or\nservice. <\/li><li>If your product or service is new to the market, then you\nmay be searching for customers to try it out.&nbsp;\nSo, the purpose of your advertising is to stimulate a<strong>trial<\/strong>.<\/li><li>If you have been using your personal selling skills, you\nmay have decided that some advertising would generate some useful leads for\nyou.&nbsp; If you have employed a salesforce,\nthe advertising would <em>support the sales\npeople<\/em> in the field.&nbsp; It is useful\nfor <strong>lead-generation<\/strong>.<\/li><li>As part of a much bigger integrated campaign, your\nadvertising may simply <strong>remind<\/strong>, and\nreinforce customers\u2019 views about your product.&nbsp;\nSo, if your customers have bought previously, it might reinforce his or\nher view that the right product is being purchased; if a customer was quite\nclose to purchasing a product, you may have reminded her that she needs to go\nand buy it.<\/li><li>Perhaps the most detailed and comprehensive approach that\nyou may take as a small business, is to undergo some <strong>basic branding<\/strong>.&nbsp; Branding can\nbe very expensive and time consuming, so proceed with caution.&nbsp; Think about trying to <em>position<\/em> your product and service in the mind of the consumer.&nbsp; You might consider endorsement by a local\ncelebrity; you could show your product in use somewhere locally; you may have\nundertaken some price promotion which you wish to communicate; or you may just\nsimply be telling your potential customers about the products and their\nbenefits.&nbsp; If you do attempt some basic\nbranding, undertake some general market research first by talking to your\ncustomers.&nbsp; Be consistent, and make sure\nthat all of your advertising and promotion is integrated.
